Ingredients
Apple Filling
-
1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and cut into small cubes
-
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
-
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Streusel Topping
-
3 ½ tablespoons (30 g) all-purpose flour
-
2 tablespoons (25 g) granulated sugar
-
2 tablespoons (30 g) unsalted butter, melted
-
Optional: 1 ½ tablespoons old-fashioned oats, chopped pecans, or walnuts
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Place a baking sheet on the lower rack if using ramekins to catch any drips.
-
Prepare the apples: Peel, core, and dice the apple into small, even cubes. Add to a small bowl with sugar and cinnamon. Toss until evenly coated
-
Fill the ramekin: Divide the apple mixture into 1–2 small ramekins, pressing lightly so the apples fit snugly.
-
Make the crumble topping: In another bowl, mix flour and sugar. Pour in melted butter and stir with a fork until clumps form. Fold in oats or nuts if using.
-
Assemble: Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the apples, covering them completely.
-
Bake: Place ramekin(s) in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are soft and bubbling.
-
Serve warm and top with ice cream or whipped cream if desired
