Description

This easy cherry cobbler recipe uses simple pantry ingredients and canned cherry pie filling for a juicy, buttery dessert with a golden crust. Perfect for holidays, potlucks, or weeknight treats, this classic cobbler is beginner-friendly and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated white sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Place the butter directly into a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it in the oven to melt.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder until evenly combined.

  3. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring until you have a smooth batter with no dry spots.

  4. Carefully remove the baking dish once the butter is fully melted. Pour the batter evenly over the butter without stirring.

  5. Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the batter. Again—do not stir

  6. Increase oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 50–60 minutes, until the top is golden and the cherries are bubbling.

  7. Let cool slightly before serving. The filling will thicken as it rests.
