Instructions
-
Mix the dough: Add flour to a stand mixer bowl. Sprinkle sugar, yeast, and salt in separate spots. Add egg, oil, milk, and softened butter.
-
Knead: Mix on medium-low for 10–15 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Dough should be soft, stretchy, and slightly sticky.
-
Stretch & fold: Transfer dough to a floured surface. Stretch and fold repeatedly until smooth and elastic. Shape into a ball.
-
First rise: Lightly oil the dough, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours until nearly tripled. Chill 15 minutes if very soft.
-
Make filling: Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Stir in melted butter and water until thick and spreadable.
-
Roll & fill: Roll dough into a 14×17-inch rectangle. Spread filling evenly to the edges.
-
Shape rolls: Roll into a log and slice into 12 rolls, or cut strips and roll individually.
-
Second rise: Place rolls in greased pan. Cover and rise 30–60 minutes until puffy 😊
-
Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
-
Ice & serve: Cool 20 minutes. Mix icing ingredients until smooth, spread generously, and enjoy!
