Description

This BBQ baked chicken breast dinner is juicy, saucy, and oven-easy. A simple weeknight chicken recipe made with just a few ingredients and big barbecue flavor the whole family loves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 whole bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (sweet and smoky style works best)

  • Kosher salt, to taste

  • Coarsely ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.

  2. Season the chicken generously on both sides with kosher salt and black pepper.

  3. Arrange chicken breasts skin-side up in the baking dish, leaving a little space between each piece.

  4. Brush with barbecue sauce, coating the tops and sides evenly.

  5. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes. The sauce should look glossy and lightly caramelized.

  6. Brush with more sauce, then return to the oven for 10 more minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F internally.

  7. Rest for 5 minutes before serving to keep the chicken juicy
